I started out as an architect, but now work as an artist, having trained at Wimbledon . I paint in oils on canvas , using the slow drying times of the medium to build layers of colour. I paint local landscapes, hoping to catch the spirit of the place by making marks : broad brushstrokes and fine details to bring out the parts that are interesting to me in the composition. I also make prints of the same landscapes, but using the etched line instead of paint.
