I started out as an architect, but now work as an artist, having trained at Wimbledon  I paint in oil on canvas, using the slow drying times of the medium to build layers of colour . I portray local landscapes, hoping to catch the spirit of the place by making marks, broad brushstrokes and sometimes adding fine details to bring out the parts that are interesting to me in the composition. I also make prints of the same landscapes, but using the etched line instead of painted strokes
