Portraits, still-life, landscapes and Transcriptions

As part of this year’s Aldeburgh Studio Trail, local portrait artist David Gillingwater will be located in the Red House – Red Studio, built for the late artist Mary Potter OBE. He will be displaying a selection of paintings based on photographs from productions of Peter Grimes, Billy Budd and other operas. Entitled Narrations on a Theme, David portrays in vibrant colour and brush stroke, images only ever seen in black and white.
