I wheel throw porcelain and stoneware in a number of useful forms such as vases, bowls, bottles and beakers. I sometimes use coloured slips to inlay the work before high firing in an electric kiln.
I first became interested in making ceramics in 2009 as part of an MA course in Contemporary Design and Decorative Arts at Sotheby’s Institute in London. I was writing my dissertation on Rupert Spira and thought I would be a good idea to take a few throwing lessons prior to interviewing him. Soon I knew that I wanted making ceramics to be a part of my life.
After a number of years sharing studio spaces in London I now work out of my home studio overlooking the Hazlewood Marshes in Aldeburgh.
